Performs the heavy cleaning of a home, in addition
to the daily keeping of a home. A Housekeeper's primary responsibility
is to keep the home clean and presentable. Housekeepers may not have formal
training, but should have experience working in a private home either
formal or casual. The specific duties and skills will vary depending on
the size of the home and the housekeeper's experience level. Housekeepers
work in all types of homes, from casual homes to formal, multi-staffed
homes. They can be highly skilled in cleaning, laundry, and maintenance
practices. Their positions can be full or part-time, and they can be live-in
or live-out day workers. These positions generally range anywhere from
40-50+ hours a week and salary is based on experience.
