Foreign workers are treated as slaves in wealthy homes and Nannies are exploited in Republic

Many foreign women working as Nannies or domestic workers in the Republic of Ireland are being oppressed by their employers. They are paid only little and the report says that nannies are working 14-hours a day for about 2 euro per hour. Even though the employers are wealthy they are not paying much. Many, who have left husbands and children behind to earn sufficient money to send home, have found themselves trapped in big houses, not being remunerated properly, having their privacy invaded and their passports withheld. They are constantly over worked and asked to do everything from minding the children all day, cooking, cleaning, washing etc.
