Primary Function of a Housekeeper

The primary function is to cover all household operations. It includes general straightening, furniture cleaning, sweeping, mop up and floor polishing. Cleaning ovens, refrigerators, and bathrooms. It includes looking after a child or an elderly person, preparing food, answering the telephone and doorbell.
Generally a housekeeper may be dependable, watchful, disciplined, pleasant, and neat appearing. The housekeeper works under the minimal supervision of the family but must be a self-starter, have high standards for cleanliness, and be able to take intitiative to generally avoid having the employer become involved in the day to day running of the home.
