A typical au pair is a single person between the ages 18 to 27 who has dependents and works for the family in a different country. She or he takes care of the youngest child in the family and other small housekeeping duties. Some times they do cooking.
Au pair employs for the family in a specified amount of time, after that the work relationship ends. Female au pairs dominate in this field. Although au pairs can and do work throughout the world, au pairs work most extensively in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
Most of the countries have an official program that governs au pairs during their stay.
