Shaken baby syndrome is a severe form of head injury that occurs when baby is shaken by force to cause the baby brain to bounce against the skull. This may cause swelling, bleeding and staining of brain. It may lead to permanent, severe brain damage or death.
Above condition is usually the result of non accidental trauma or child abuse. Changes in behavior, tiredness, irritability, loss of consciousness and vomiting. There are no outward physical signs of trauma; there may be broken, injured, dislocated bones and injuries to the neck and spine.
