An additional Sydney childcare centre is set to open its doors 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet rising demand from shift functioning parents and those who don't want to use babysitters on a night out.

The Long Day care Centre and St Clair pre-school offers nine places to children aged two to six overnight, and all day and night at weekends. But the number of spaces will twofold if the requirements co-owner Heidi Haghverdian predicts materialises.

After getting the license from the department of community services Mrs. Haghverdian plans to begin 24-hour care at the St Clair centre in the coming weeks which has been permitted by Penrith Council. Parents will also be able to exercise the centre as a substitute to a babysitter for the sporadic day or night out.

All night care will run from 7pm, when children will be plunged off at the centre previously suffused and prepared for bed, until 7am, when they are composed, having had breakfast. The worth is yet to be situated for overnight and weekend care, but Mrs. Haghverdian foresees it will be less than the charge of a babysitter – about $25 an hour.
