The Nanny Diaries Review

Directors Shari Berman and Robert Pulcini take the reins of The Nanny Diaries in this film translation of McLaughlin and the bestselling novel of Kraus, the same name right from the duo that brought the perilously commended American Splendor to the big screen. And capitalizing on the fame of book and attraction of America as well with the monarchal matrons of upper crust society, The Nanny Diaries proffers a ruthlessly funny but humanely tempered look at the life of one Manhattan nanny. Scarlett Johansson headlines as Annie Braddock, a fresh-out-of-college anthropology major when trying to enter the professional world and who experiences an identity crisis. Overwhelmed by her conflicting requirements, an overbearing mother, and some all-too-familiar financial woes, Annie accepts a nanny position with Mr. and Mrs. X family.
