In a scheme backed by Tony Blair, specialist health visitors will call on parents together with their toddlers under two to help with feeding, care and discipline as well. Experts claim that early intervention is the key to preventing youngsters becoming problem teenagers by getting them ready to behave in time for school. Problems such as drug abuse, petty crime and dropping out of class can be traced back to bad parenting before children are two, it is said.
