Nanny care a cheaper choice

A nanny can be a cheaper choice than child care for parents with three or more children. And in some cases, families could be qualified for rebates that mean utilize a nanny cost them next to nothing. Tanya Cole, manager of agency Nanny SA, said the increasing cost of child care had seen an increasing number of parents favoring to utilize a nanny to look after their children.

A report commissioned by the Australian Greens last year found the cost of child care had risen 91 per cent in the past decade. The Australian Bureau of Statistics says the median daily cost for long day care after the Child Care Benefit is paid is $50.
