Nannies was once considered the only domain for rich and famous, are now fast joining the conventional child-care industry as more parents with busy careers find it an affordable option. Over last 20 years, the nanny business has boomed in over all United States. No statistics are yet available, though industry professionals estimate 1 million nannies are working in the country. The regular full-time, live-in nanny make money for about $650 a week in the Mid-Atlantic region during 2006, according to a salary survey by the International Nanny Association, based in Houston. Part-time, live-in nannies make money about $400 a week.
