What takes to be a good babysitter?

First of all a babysitter has to be in good health, if you have any contagious diseases or cold/flu, never take up a babysitting job. A babysitter must be responsible, dependable and should have love for children. Babysitters need to be mature and should know what to do during an emergency.

A babysitter should have good manners; need to be pleasant and disciplined. Here are interviewing tips from Noble Nanny

During an interview with the childcare giver, watch how a baby sitter or nanny watches your children. Some nannies are more fretful with days off than interrelating with your child. Listen for tone of voice; see how she responds to your child: Is she imprudent or development? "Some are rapid to raise their voice or fast to anger, or someone might be totally passive and do not see themselves as having a role in child care. You require somebody self-confident and nurturing. Somebody who could probably help explain to your child what good behavior is. A good nanny, like a excellent parent, is able to reason with a child, explain things."
